I recently built an HTPC but since it was in an enclosed space (I use an 8cc organizer as a TV stand) it received a random signal between less than 1 Mbit/s to 50 Mbit/s. I use this pair of antennas to position the antennas outside of the organizer cube and closer to the router. Now I get 150Mbps to 180Mbps. Your results may vary, mine was about moving the antennas.
