I buy it for sanding ceilings. This design is inconvenient for this task. The head of the device spins freely, making it difficult to apply on a flat, flat surface with a back/forth motion over the head. You will not be able to sand the ceiling evenly if the machine head is rotated 90° relative to the stand because the head will move too much to sand evenly. So a fine sanding line with the head in line with the shaft, ie instead of a broad line.
