Review on πŸ”Œ Grohe 46138000 1/2 in. Quick Coupling: Hassle-Free Connection at Any Size by Robert Layne

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Compatible with Grohe

The other day I was washing dishes using an 8 year old Ladyluxe faucet and found my foot was wet. I looked down and saw a small jet of water pouring out from under the closet door. I thought the drain had come loose or the disposal was leaking. But it was a piece of plastic at the base of the faucet. The threaded black side parted and a thin jet of water flooded the entire interior of the cabinet. The part was easy to unscrew and identify as a Grohe part '46 315', but I found this part, 'Grohe 46 138', which looked the same and matched the Revain Prime. I took the plunge and ordered the part and installed it with no problems. It seems that 46 315 and 46 138 are equivalent replacements for each other. I noticed a small internal difference; The shape of the inner screen is conical, while the new 48 138 is flat. However, this can only be an update for all their parts. In the end, 48 138 fits and works. As for the actual Grohe part, it seems to me that this part is a common failure point in this design. It didn't take long for discussion forums to realize that after 5 years this part was no longer in service. I'll buy a replacement and keep it in the closet so I don't have to go through this for another 5-8 years. However, I doubt I will buy another Grohe faucet after this experience.
