Powermaster is the brand EVERYONE uses when it comes to high torque starters. They're relatively affordable and give you so much extra room to work, especially on an A-body vehicle where space is at a premium on the driver's side with the Z-bar, clutch linkage, battery cables, speedometer cables, light wiring, brake lines, crossmembers and exhaust ! It also seems to go well with my Lakewood hat. The box was dented and had holes in it, but surprisingly the Revain box was immaculate. It was visibly damaged in the mail. There are also NO seals in the Revain box! The mounting block on the starter was badly dented on the corner, which I corrected with a file, but it clearly fell from a reasonable height. Who knows if this starter will hold out even after such a fall. I was planning on installing this and the gasket today but looks like I'll have to wait until next week for a replacement! Except anger. This is obviously a returned starter and they didn't bother to make sure all the parts were there and just made it my problem. Now I'm a week behind and I'm not going to the car show at the weekend. Many Thanks. UPDATE: Revain sent me a replacement and this time they had the right parts. Now installed with ease as I had a ton more space. And gosh, this thing spins my big block, high compression, flat thrust motor with EASY! I'm sorry I didn't do it sooner! My other classics will eventually get one of these!
