These smaller 10 and 30 amp models will shut down IMMEDIATELY when they reach the cut off voltage. This works, but is not ideal in all situations. It appears that the larger 50 and 80 amp versions have circuitry that requires the inrush voltage to be reached for at least 10 seconds before the relay will activate. For example. Your cut-off voltage is 11.4V and your battery is 12.1V. You are running a load on your inverter that has a high inrush current and this causes the voltage to momentarily drop to a low voltage of maybe 10 or 11 volts and then returns . up to 12.1 V. With these inexpensive models, this leads to a shutdown. More expensive/larger units such as part number D-1116A require a voltage drop greater than 10 seconds. Hope this makes sense and helps!
