So I bought this for my ferret when I'm away and need someone who isn't entirely familiar with the common types of ferrets to watch. I ended up building the cage myself, but quickly became overwhelmed and frustrated, requiring a second pair of hands. He's gotten a lot bigger than I thought, which is good because this will be his playpen and he needs a lot of space. I built a shelf on which I put a attached mat so he could walk (otherwise he wouldn't be able to walk on the shelf) and attached a tube so he could walk up and down. The biggest problem I had was that the door has squares at the bottom that are a bit bigger than the walls, so my ferret eventually figured it out and started squeezing out. I had to put a heavy couch in front of him to block his way. However, I have to use zip ties to close these squares as this can become dangerous over time. Fixing one square will inevitably cause another to pop out of its place. It's a whole process.
