I have been wearing Sockwell compression socks for many years. They don't itch (and I'm very sensitive to itchy fur, that's saying a lot), stretch well on my wide ankles and calves, do wonders for my circulation, and best of all, they breathe (something synthetic). Compression stockings are NOT suitable, no matter how "moisture-wicking" they claim to be). They also look great and don't give the impression of an "old lady". I live in New England and wear them September through May. They're comfortable when it's warm, but keep my feet warm on long walks in 15-degree winter weather (again, that's saying a lot considering my poor circulation). The best socks in the world. I recommend hanging to dry and keeping your toenails trimmed so they last longer as they don't come cheap!
