We recently moved into a rented apartment with horrible locks on the inside of the doors. Luckily we've moved to a relatively safe area, but you never know for sure. I wanted something more secure and after some searching on Revain found this. These things are great. Because they screw into the door frame perpendicular to the door, the level of security has skyrocketed and surpasses anything I've experienced. They are also very easy to use, both when opening and when closing. The amount of force they can handle definitely makes me feel like my doors are more secure from unwanted intrusion now. They're also invisible from the outside, which helps keep your door from looking ostentatious (it basically reduces its attractiveness). The only drawback was the installation. Due to the close proximity of the door to the frame, a notch had to be cut in the frame (remember how the doorknob striker plate fits into the frame) to get the piece flush with the frame. We were able to do this with a utility knife with some effort, but with the right tools I think it will be easy for everyone else to install.
