I recently purchased a 235/45/17 tire for my Passat b7. Although the previous vehicle featured Michelin X-Ice North 4 tires, I passed on this one because the price of a new pair of tires equaled 10% of the car's fair market value. We choose to get Chinese food. In theory, I get my money's worth, but the excessive noise means I'll probably switch tires before the next season. The trade wind may appear to be a tranquil vehicle, but the addition of this rubber has completely removed any sense of relaxation. Some reviewers have found that persons driving inexpensive vehicles like the Logan and Largus have reported that their tires are surprisingly quiet. Either they have no idea what quiet tires are (the aforementioned Michelin 4 is typically as silent as Velcro) or tire size has a significant impact on noise.
