Perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

I bought a scooter two months ago. During this time I drove somewhere 150 km or so. I will write an unusual review - a comparison of this scooter with a mountain bike, because every week I roll at least a hundred kilometers on a bike and compare any transport with it. A scooter for me is also a transport, not a toy. I also want to note that at first, when I switched from a bicycle to a scooter, I didn’t really like it - it seemed slow and uncomfortable, but after a couple of weeks I changed my mind for the better, so don’t rush to conclusions. First, the main thing - a scooter is an excellent device when you need to get somewhere close (6-7 km maximum) and quickly. At first it was somehow not convenient after the bike, but I quickly got used to it and now I am very pleased - now you can get to the metro, to the gym, to a distant store in an instant - no need to wait for the bus and push with someone there, no need to go to the bus stop, and there also from the stop - just got out of the house and forward! By the way, if you are going to leave a scooter, take care of a good bike lock with a short cable - no matter how big you can tie it to the frame. It is great that you can block it, and if you wish, you can take the scooter under your arm and carry it away. I will also outline the main difficulties that will have to be faced. There are two of them - inattentive people and stairs. People: there are a lot of them, they are everywhere in Hong Kong and most of them do not see the scooter at close range - no one wants to give way, they are reluctant to respond to a call. I spit on everything and ride along the road on the side of the road, otherwise you simply won’t pass through people and entrances every 10 metro. Ladders - the scooter, due to its shape, does not ride well on the sled, as a result of which it has to be dragged by itself. There are surprisingly many stairs in Hong Kong. Even while you get to the subway - well, you have to go through half a dozen stairs - and each time you fold and unfold the scooter, in general, not everything is so simple. As a result: for its purposes, this scooter is an excellent vehicle, I am satisfied.

Pros
  • + Weight: in fact, this is not really a virtue - after all, the scooter is quite heavy - 14 kg cannot be carried in your hand for a long time. But I attribute this to the merits because this model is the most compromise in terms of weight / power ratio. I analyzed different scooters for a long time before buying - other models, if more powerful, are much heavier. If it's easier, then they're completely dead. In principle, it will not be very difficult to go down the short stairs even for a fragile girl. But then again - you can’t drag it in your hands for a long time. + Power: quite powerful - my 90 kg uphill (say on a flyover) pulls quite confidently - of course not at maximum speed - it gives out 15-18 km / h maximum, but still pulls. In a straight line, it quickly accelerates to maximum speed. + Compactness: again, this is not really a plus. In the subway, if there are other people, it will definitely get in the way! But if there are not many people, then it is quite easy to get into the subway and the bus. The scooter folds in the handlebar area - very convenient. But there is also a minus - if you can take the mouse mod and carry it up the stairs, then you need to bend down, remove the latch, lower the handle, bend the steering wheel, and after the stairs it's all in the reverse order. Of course, this whole process takes 10-15 seconds, but for example, at the crossing, while you are bending there during this time, they can fly in from behind and impose unpleasant epithets - all around they are late for planes. Here, just to go through one underground passage, you will have to bend down at least 4 times, fold and unfold the scooter. This, of course, is not a minus of the scooter - but just a remark. +Waterproof: a lot of talk about the attitude of the scooter to water, rain, puddles, etc. I have been riding in the rain several times and driving through puddles - everything is fine. Nevertheless, do not forget that this is an electrical device, it is not large, which does not care about any rain, so you really should not poke it into the water, and you still need to go around deep puddles.
Cons
  • - Mileage on one charge. That's never 45 km. I guess it's such a spherical value in a vacuum on a perfectly flat road with a 30kg driver. I weigh about 90 kg, with clothes, a backpack and equipment, it turns out to be 90 with a little. I can drive about 15 km, after which the scooter starts to noticeably give up. In general, the battery behaves strangely. After 40%, the scooter accelerates much more slowly, and after 20%, it practically doesn’t ride anymore. I have never ridden from 100% to zero - I always recharged the device where I could so as not to accidentally get stuck, but according to my estimates, the scooter on the same charge with my weight will travel about 20 km at best. - Battery: this is in addition to the previous paragraph. The scooter runs out pretty quickly. Riding around the city is enough, I don’t know, for 2-2.5 hours maximum. Those. drive once, say, to the neighboring district and back, or, say, get from home to the subway, from the subway to the destination and back. This is a payment for the low weight and mobility of the scooter. - Speed: 25 km / h - maximum. For me, this is not enough. On a bike, using only my legs, I go 30-35, so it seems very slow here. Although for pedestrians it will probably be fine. And again - this is the price for low weight. More powerful scooters weigh much more - 25 kg and more. - Small wheels: this means that the scooter will be much worse to overcome obstacles. Where on the bike I did not even look at this sidewalk, here I have to dismount altogether, because the wheel cannot overcome such a rise. You can forget about trips on sand, gravel - the scooter will not pass there. -Maneuverability: the steering wheel of this scooter rotates a maximum of 45 degrees, unlike a bicycle - therefore, it will not be possible to do various tricks on it, and it is better not to enter into sharp turns. However, I quickly got used to it.
