Ok to be honest I'm embarrassed to give such a negative review on this product as most people are happy with it and maybe I just expected too much from it but anyway here is, what I have experienced. The filament is very fragile and even though they make it clear in the description, it's still annoying. My 3D printer always puts a little tension on the filament even when you load the filament so despite being careful I still had the filament snap once, no big deal when it's removed but if it breaks and you the broken one Pushing thread into your machine, I think it may cause some damage.2. I'm not a fan of the cardboard spool, I'm sure it's eco-friendly, but it can get damaged in transit. It also doesn't roll as smoothly on the stand when fed into the machine like a plastic spool, which isn't a big deal, but I feel like if I'm paying a higher price I want to preform a little better, not worse 3 . The thread stays in place after you change the color of the thread, while all threads do to some extent, none were as bad as this thread. I suppose you could just let the extruder run for a few minutes after loading another filament, but then you're wasting filament, which seems pointless. The biggest downside for me is that I just couldn't get a proper print with this filament. Maybe it was something I did wrong, or maybe it was just my cheap 3D printer, but every other PLA I've tried worked fine and I just couldn't get it to print properly. I'll update my review when I can get a decent printout of it, but that still doesn't change the fact that its preforms are quite different from standard PLA. I'm not exactly sure why you want or want this, especially since the extra weight doesn't increase the strength of the print, but if you're looking, this thread has it. The part of this thread I got looked pretty cool, it almost looked like stone/concrete and if you put some peroxide and salt on it you get that cool rust effect that everyone loves. So, after all these negatives and annoyances, the only real benefit you get from this thread is that even with it, it looks pretty cool, although it doesn't look that cool when you compare it to something like wood thread. If you use wood filament and color your print, you can get a 3D print that looks exactly like wood, but no matter what you do, it still looks like something 3D printed. Overall I'm not very happy with this thread, although it printed well and I had no issues with it I still don't think it would impress me. It just isn't unique or good enough to justify $40, and the difficulty of using it was just the icing on the disappointment cake. Look for one that is easier to use.
