Review on Mopar 6822 9402AA Engine Filter by Anferny Pineda

No problem but a bit pricey

I have a 2014 RAM 1500 Eco Diesel 3.0L and had nothing but a Mopar oil filter. Although it's a bit more expensive and it's OEM, I haven't had any issues with it! I use about 11.5 liters of synthetic oil and change it about every 10,000 miles which is the recommendation. Every time I change the oil the filter looks as clean as it came out of the box. I know it's more expensive than Fram, Wix or other brands, but I don't know if I'm willing to risk another cheap brand. In my experience, you get what you pay for when it comes to these types of purchases. Pros: - No disassembly problems and good filtering. I cut one in half to see what it looks like inside and didn't find anything wrong or worrisome, or will you save $20 and risk ruining your engine? (Maybe it's a bit dramatic, but you get what I mean.) Summary: I'm sticking with Mopar for now, but maybe in the future I'll find or learn about a filter that's as good as Mopar but cheaper.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion
