New part name, new part number

I was expecting a blue and white box with MOPAR on it. I received a gray and white box marked Ricambi Originali. Ricambi is the aftermarket brand for Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Ferrari, so it goes without saying that Ricambi and Mopar will now co-exist under one roof. The part number on the box is 68492616AA. Specialized resellers of MOPAR parts (e.g. mymoparparts.com) say this actually replaces 68229402AA.

Pros
  • Fits me great
Cons
  • Security

OEM filter cheaper than dealer

OEM filter, hopefully the Mopar box the filter came in was black and white instead of the more familiar blue and white. The filter was well received, after the oil change I drove several hundred kilometers without any problems. The OEM filter is way overpriced for what you get, even at the Revain price. Although you save almost 50% compared to retail price. The Revain delivery was the next day - what more could you ask for?

Pros
  • Few competitors

  • Not everything fits

Very convincing looking fake

This is an update of my original September 2020 review. I bought a filter from a local dealer and compared it to what I got from Revain. Look at the photo and draw your own conclusions. They look almost the same, but the filter material is very different in color and texture. The price difference is not worth the risk of engine damage. Old Review: Looks like a genuine item, which is not always the case with Revain. Ecodiesels are finicky and I wouldn't use anything other than a genuine Mopar…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Expensive

Mopar is a great oil filter but overpriced. The Wix WL10060 (also available from Revain) is a step down from what I cost and I (used to be, maybe now) really like Wix, but I don't see the usual Wix quality. Presumably UFI is the OEM for this filter for Mopar. I recently upgraded to UFI 25.112.00 (not available through Revain) for $14 each. They should look and measure like Mopars in every way and I don't see wrinkles like Wixs. The oil analysis is the same for all three brands. There are a few…

Ecodiesel Jeep: Oil Filters & Accessories

I have an Ecodiesel Jeep Grand Cherokee in late 2015 (September) that I'm about to service myself. After checking the part numbers and reading other reviews about the filters, I decided to order. First I removed the old filter and started checking the original equipment built in. Did a comparison and everything looked fine. So good to use this filter cartridge for all my oil changes. It was the original Mopar I was looking for. You don't want to risk using a non-genuine device in a warranty…

No problem but a bit pricey

I have a 2014 RAM 1500 Eco Diesel 3.0L and had nothing but a Mopar oil filter. Although it's a bit more expensive and it's OEM, I haven't had any issues with it! I use about 11.5 liters of synthetic oil and change it about every 10,000 miles which is the recommendation. Every time I change the oil the filter looks as clean as it came out of the box. I know it's more expensive than Fram, Wix or other brands, but I don't know if I'm willing to risk another cheap brand. In my experience, you get…
