yarn is better.
I don't know if it's a single ball but there are joints every 3 feet that I have to cut and then reattach. One of the knots in my work has already snapped, leaving a huge hole. Also, the skein you get for your money is negligible. I send the rest back and rework my project in a new, better yarn.
