Must be factory. The product itself and 5 stars from Amazon. I've been a lifelong friend of Mopar, but sometimes it's hard for me to understand what's going on with Chrysler. The funny thing is that it was the Dodge/RAM dealer who sold and shipped this item through Amazon. Think you buy a $60,000 truck and they can't add a piece of plastic for a few bucks. Ask your dealer and they will tell you that the non-locking gas cap is sealed and has a rubber grommet. Ask any owner after they've been in a storm or seen a foot of snow fall on their truck and they think the cover should be in place. PS: Don't worry about expensive aluminum having a fit problem.
