Review on πŸ”Š HP 32-Inch Display with Olufsen Speakers and 2560X1440P Resolution (N9C43AA) by Stephen Pryor

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good monitor, bad software

This is a pretty good monitor. The biggest weak point is the HP software and the supplied manuals. The manual isn't detailed enough, and the HP My Display software that's supposed to help you set it up is rubbish. Never worked, brightness not adjusted immediately, monitor stuck at 100%. When I found an update online, the software that replaced it was even worse. Ignore unwanted HP software and use the menu buttons. The second problem was freesync. I didn't know, and the manual doesn't mention that AMD Freesync only works through the display port on this monitor. Freesync over HDMI is now available, but only on multiple monitors. One day I realized that the monitor made sense and in the end it worked as advertised. The picture is good, but the black tones are not as good as my old Asus IPS monitor. I can trade this for a larger size of this monitor. In addition, the speakers from B&O are significantly better than those from Asus. Overall I'm happy with my purchase but it's not exactly 5 stars due to slightly lower black levels and poor utility software. But the sound is great, no complaints!
