It may not be glamorous high style, but they are very well made. The grinding mechanism in a pepper mill is screwed tightly to the bottom of the product, and the plug at the bottom of the salt shaker is made of hard plastic that can be screwed in, not soft plastic that shrinks and falls out. Amazing quality! I bought these to replace a beautiful Crate and Barrel marble set that fell apart after six months. Now the function over the form applies forever.
