I made two sets of custom bypass cabinet doors and wanted to be able to hang them on something special other than the finicky stamped sheet metal, noisy blocks you find in big boxes. Enter Johnson and his exceptional cabinet hardware. When it came time to replace the broken track (less than a year old from Home Depot) with another set of cheap bypass doors, I chose Johnson and was not disappointed. Everything in this guide is reminiscent of a bygone era when hardware was designed to last more than a few months. The metal base is very thick and rigid and did not bend or warp during installation. The rack rails are strong and easy to remove and replace. This makes installing and removing the doors very easy: you can remove the jambs to release the doors from the rails. The jambs are also perfectly positioned for our 1 3/8 inch doors, turning our cheap, rattling closet doors into smooth, quiet doors. I am so happy that this simple guide is as well done as I had hoped. m looking for excuses to install more Johnson door hardware in our home.
