Don't waste your money

I put them on my 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 to straighten the back of my truck when I was using a car transporter. When I bought them the window saying they would or wouldn't fit in your car indicated they would. Why should I buy something that doesn't fit or doesn't fit? Now the window says they won't! The shock absorbers fit my truck perfectly and were easy to install. Took about 15,000 miles to install and they have seemed to perform very well for the past few years. I only used the car transporter about 5 times during the time the shock absorbers were on the truck. The rest of the time the truck was only used as a transporter without anything at the back. About a month ago, at about 45,000 miles, I noticed a knock. Is that a good description?. From the back of the truck as I was about to drive over the bump. I have a 4 post lift in my garage and put the truck on the lift today to check it out. I found that all the bushings were loose and the rubber had shifted so the ends of the shocks were no longer centered in the mounts on the truck and the ends were rubbing on the mounts! Also, the "bell" on top of one of the shock absorbers broke off the shaft and floated free. I've been using Gabriel shock absorbers for many years and they used to be of really good quality. Now they're just a piece of garbage from Mexico. Or, to be politically correct. Hey in Mexico. So I would recommend not spending any money on it. Replace the above shock absorbers. When I received the Delco shocks and opened the box, guess what. They are the same shock absorbers as Gabriel, which "do not fit my car". The number stamped on the shock absorber is the same for both brands! Both are made in Mexico. I have found that on Delco shocks one of the bushings is already deformed and misplaced on the end of the shock. So I decided to return the ACDelco shock absorbers before installing them. Why replace trash with trash?

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
