Buying is something I highly encourage doing. I was able to save 15 kopecks by taking advantage of discounts. The price in the market fluctuates quite a bit; be on the lookout for it. Below are some advantages: Overall an excellent device! Real personal server. For everyone who wishes to get your storage, office system, instant messenger, file downloads, images, and a lot more organized on their personal cloud. Everything was set up quite competently, software was suggested by Synology, there are a lot of instructions that are easy to understand on the internet, and there is a large community. In terms of performance, it is absolutely capable of dealing with the majority of the responsibilities. Installed Plex media server, which pulls up to 4k content on local TVs and remotely transcodes without any breaks up to 720p resolution. It works for me. Various disadvantages: Obviously, Synology has a pretty ingenious product line, however there is always something lacking:) I selected between ds118 and ds220j. For the ds118, absolutely 1 GB of RAM is required; 512 MB will not be sufficient in any way. The fact that there isn't a second basket is a minus. The use of certain programs was programmatically restricted (in order to purchase more expensive models). There is a ds220+ variant, but unfortunately, it is not within my price range at this time.
