These bushes have many advantages. It's well built, looks good and most importantly, it works as advertised. It might seem a bit pricey at $35, but there are a few perks. It's powered, which is important for any hub, but especially 3.0 hubs. Unlike some others (read their reviews) it delivers full power to all ports. I have at least one other hub that works fine until you connect the 4th device. So far, this hub has worked flawlessly with two Seagate 2TB external hard drives and one Western Digital Scorpio Blue 670GB hard drive connected. I've also connected 2.0 and 3.0 devices to this hub and they all run at design speed. Don't expect a 5x to 10x increase in throughput with USB 3.0 over 2.0, regardless of marketing promises. Based on my experience with the three drives above, a 3-5x increase is more likely. However, peak performance of over 300% can be worth the money if you regularly stream (or back up/transfer) large files or groups of files. I have several hubs (Belkin, Tripplite, etc.) that work very well. I have to say that the StarTech mentioned here works as advertised. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.
