Review on πŸ’» 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Multiport Adapter with Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 Hub, 100W Power Delivery - Ideal for MacBook Pro and USB-C Devices by Staxy Asedr

Power hog and ultra-short USB-C cable, but generally good

I only got this item as a Complementary to my Chromecast purchased with Google TV. Google's official Ethernet adapter costs $20 and includes a 5V 1.5A power adapter, so we know the device will work at this low wattage. However, this hub is a power source that requires a lot of power. So it's easy to add $20 to the purchase price of this hub if you don't already have a large USB-C power adapter (the average user won't). I knew from reviews that the free 5V-1.5A that comes free with your CWGTV wouldn't work with this product, but I naively went with it, thinking I could use one of my many Samsung Adaptives Use fast charge connectors with the characteristics 9V-1.67A or 5V-2A. So I plugged everything in and my TV gives a power saving error. for every 5V-2A in our house. I've tried (a) the included charger, (b) the Chromecast Ultra charger with Micro USB to USB-c adapter, and (c) 6 different 5V 2A chargers and none of them fail gone from it. So I ordered a ZMI USB-C 65W Charger (B07D64QLQ1) for $22 and it fixed everything. So I think the conclusion is that your value for this product should include buying a power supply that supplies 3A or more. This has worked well so far, and the only problem is that the USB-C cable (always connected) is very short, meaning this device needs to be very close to your CWGTV. Overall good, but I'd probably reconsider all of my options that have been said so far if I were to do it again.

Pros
  • Fast charging: 100W charging port allows you to charge your computer, MacBook Pro or other Type-C devices while data is being transferred
Cons
  • Damaged
