Review on Taulman 2 85Mm Spool Nylon Bridge by Amrozi Goodall

Great item once you figure out how to get it stuck to your bed.

This is a great material, I'm printing some thin walled parts that need strength and the PLA I used previously was brittle. I could use ABS but since my hot end can get hot enough for nylon I decided to give it a try. Super durable and looks great. I had trouble sticking it to my bed which is PEI, tried different things with different glues and couldn't get it to stick while getting curled edges the whole time. Blue painter's tape was fine for small parts, but for larger parts it just peeled the tape off the PEI. Finally I read that someone printed on poplar wood. So, a quick trip to Home Depot for 1/4" thick sheet metal and wood, the prints hold up great. I just use some binding clips to attach it to the PEI. The only downside to using a wood bed is that you have wood fragments get into the ground, I could probably sand it down quickly or spray it, but for my application it doesn't matter.

Pros
  • Reduced water absorption due to local humidity
Cons
  • old
