I have chosen a mechanical timer over many of the newer electronic devices because I tend to prefer simple, multi-functional products. I would have thought a review of this type of device would be trivial to waste time writing, but I value feedback so I thought I'd offer my two cents. I use it for outdoor Christmas lights. After about a week of use, it's doing what I wanted, controlling the light from dusk to dawn. I am satisfied with the device and can recommend it at this point in time. If I have problems with the device later, I will update my review. One weird thing is that it was mainly shipped in zip-lock type packaging. It didn't look used, just generic. I can live with it.
