Review on πŸ”§ Xcelite 99821 Interchangeable PH1 Phillips Round Screwdriver Blade, 4" Length by Patrick Keita

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazing quality in power and hand tools

Many of the less expensive small (head #1) Phillips (PH) screwdriver bits are not manufactured to the tight tolerances to match a PH screw head fit, although this need not be visible to the naked eye. However, when the user attempts to remove stubborn, rusted, corroded (corrosion of dissimilar metals) cross mounts with a poor quality tool, this often results in the hex socket in the head of the Phillips screw being ripped off or the grooves on the drive side becoming damaged. Typically, the screw is rendered non-releasable without collateral damage to the surface held by the fastener. The tip of the Xcelite screwdriver, on the other hand, fits more precisely into the PH socket in the screw head and pulls out the screw with due care without damaging the screw head, the tool tip or the object surface. If any of the above annoying conditions are present, don't damage what you're trying to fix. Get an Xcelite screwdriver with a strong "bite", use a suitable penetrant if necessary, hold the tool flush with the fastener on the screw head, apply a blow and tighten. Much luck.
