Review on Master the Art of Drawing: A Comprehensive Guide for Absolute Beginners by Linda Diaz

Revainrating 3 out of 5

People need to calm down and read the whole book.

I think this is a good drawing book for beginners to use alongside many other reference books and tutorials. This is a fact and a clinical presentation. I see a lot of people complaining that it's not for beginners. Reviews seem to indicate how some early examples of drawings progress from molds to abruptly completed professional drawings. I believe if you have the patience to become a good artist or draftsman, you will have the patience to turn a few pages and realize that this book describes the methods by which those finished drawings are created. I'd say these early examples are meant to give an overview of what's possible. The Keys to Drawing is a much better book for beginners, but it's still useful and a lot better than some people will tell you. All in all, be quiet, be patient, and read a few chapters before whining about how intimidating some examples seem.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
