There is absolutely no excuse for Taylor to make the product so expensive and to cut down on every conceivable angle in design and manufacture. The build quality compared to the price of the product is terrible, even unforgivable. I ordered MANY early prototypes that were significantly better built than this agitator. An unnecessary screw is required to access the battery compartment. You'll need the rarer Phillips #1 screwdriver for the screw. The battery compartment isn't waterproof. The battery case design is terrible, and there is no standard surface texture on the plastic parts, reducing the cost of production tooling. They didn't even bother to add some dye to their cheap plastic to hide the internal components. I will add my own non-slip feet to prevent the agitator from touching the table top and to prevent the augers from corroding and water ingress. Who designs a plastic part that doesn't have legs on the bottom or space for bumpers?!? I can only imagine the poor quality of the electrical assembly inside the case.
