The instructions for the KH test say to count the drops until the water turns light yellow. The word "bright" should be removed because it is important to change the color of the water to yellow. My water turned a dull yellow after six drops, but the seventh drop changed it to a lighter yellow. However, my water has never been as light as the lighter shades of yellow shown in the color chart that came with the API Master test kit. Why did I mean the API master test color chart? I wanted to know that the API is considered bright yellow. Regarding the GH test, the GH&KH conversion chart in the guide isn't high enough for my water, so after searching online I found a chart that shows up to 25 drops (degrees). I kept adding drops until my water turned green. 18 drops. To get the PPM, multiply 17.9 by the number of drops counted.
