Review on πŸ”† The Ultimate Wipe New HDL6PCMTRRT Headlight Restore Kit – Revolutionary Solution for Headlight Restoration by Tim Knain

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Elbow grease not included

Like many others I bought this to "restor" the headlights on my car. The kit says it's good for "oxidation, fading, and sun damage." cloudy or dull, it is not due to oxidation, fading or sun damage. Check out your taillights. They're not milky or matte, are they? No! And they stand up to the same weather and sun as headlights. Why are the headlights milky and dark? The answer is that when you're driving, every bit of dust and dirt in the air essentially clogs your headlights with sand. Each speck of dust or dirt creates a micro-scratch only one-thousandth of an inch thick. And then dirt gets into those scratches. It's those scratches and dirt inside that make your headlights look cloudy and dull, not oxidation or sun damage. No. The cure is in the 2000 grit polishing pad included in this kit. and NOT included in a generous helping of elbow grease. My headlights were cloudy and dark from micro-scratches after 12 years and 156,000 miles. In about 30 minutes of muscle power, about 15 minutes per bulb, I was able to polish off maybe a thousandth of an inch of the surface of my headlights, and with it the scratches and dirt that had eaten into them. I literally felt the surface smooth out as I polished. At the end of 30 minutes of buffing, my hands were worn out, as was the buffing pad. but my headlights looked fine. Next step: Apply Miracle Wipe New solution. This is where the kit I received differs from the pictures and description. The description says the Wipe New Miracle Cure comes in a pre-moistened wipe. Apparently there have been changes. The solution now comes in a small bottle that is only half full. The kit includes a small terry towel that you can use to apply the solution. The instructions warn that the solution could damage the car's paintwork, so I put duct tape around the headlights as a precaution; It wasn't necessary, but I think it's a good precaution. The instructions also warn against getting the solution on your skin, so I used the gloves that came with it, and also put on safety goggles as a sensible precaution. I smeared about a teaspoon of the solution onto a rag and rubbed it onto the newly polished headlights. Wow! It really added shine to my headlights. (Though the bottle is only half full, there's enough solution to clean at least eight or 10 pairs of headlights. And 2000-grit polishing pads can be purchased anywhere auto trim is sold, such as most major auto parts stores.) I have 85+% recovery of my headlights. You really look very good. It's amazing how much better it makes my car look overall. These sparkling headlights make the whole car look great. I recommend this kit for restoring muddy, dark headlights. It really works. So why am I not giving it five stars? As the description promises a very simple process, just wipe with a miracle cure and in a few seconds with almost no effort your headlights will be sparkling like new. That's not entirely true, and if the people who wrote the ads had simply read the instructions for the product, they would have realized that this isn't true. The product delivers the claimed result, but the advertising greatly exaggerates the process and effort required. As I said, I recommend this set because it has given me good results. However, note that you will need 30 minutes of polishing and 45 minutes of the entire project to use this kit. When you're done, the results will be pretty good.
