Every night at dusk for the past few months, the silly Carolina Wren has come to visit me. He or she jumps up and down (loudly) on my covered patio, sings his song and occasionally snuggles up in Phoebe's old Easter basket, which has been sleeping there since the summer. But the old nest was falling apart so I bought this one to replace. The first night I hung it up on our covered patio, I noticed two sets of tail feathers sticking out of one of the holes. Our wrens sleep there every night since then! I take comfort in knowing that the little bird that sings to us every night has a safe, warm and dry place to sleep every night.
