I switched to this beast from a 27" 1440p RoG Swift released a few years back. This update had the dual purpose of increasing horizontal desktop space for IDE encoding and more immersive gaming. The delivery of Revain was quick and the box was perfect This monitor was packaged very well and the box wasn't as big as I expected Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons: + Received with no dead pixels or other obvious defects + Will be assembled and comes ready to use AND factory calibrated - just remove the plastic plug and go!+ The factory calibrated settings look as good as what I was able to get on my ROG Swift after careful research and tweaking your table.+ The image quality is slightly better than the aforementioned 27-inch RoG Swift. That 10-bit color gamut really makes things pop + The HDR implementation is actually respectable. Get most of the effects you want when streaming HDR video and HDR-enabled games. Best-in-class brightness of 550 nits and a wide color gamut make the standard base implementation of DisplayHDR 400 better than previous generations of such monitors. I mean it's not even close to my LG OLED TV but not bad! I wasn't expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. I've played Doom Eternal and Gears 5 and both felt better with HDR.+ The G-Sync implementation works great, there are no frame tearing anywhere.+ TWO (x2) DisplayPort 1.4 inputs! This is actually the feature that sets this monitor apart from the competition for me. I wanted to DP my gaming and work units (for a change) and this monitor got delivered! with integrated USB hub.+ No "Acer" logo anywhere; Predator coolers only!+ Sleek and conservative aesthetics, no LEDs or flashy plastic. This may be a disadvantage for some! + Easy height and angle adjustments that stay in place. To the "cons". - The base is too deep if you have a narrow table like me. One of the legs got in the way of my mouse pad. My solution was to move the monitor further back which caused the back of the base to protrude over the table. Then I held him so he wouldn't try to move further away from the table. Worked well but a bit annoying. - Backlight. I know this is a problem with all IPS panels - certainly all I've had. However, this monitor is a bit more distinctive than my old RoG Swift. On the other hand (pun intended?) it's only really noticeable when the screen is completely black and it doesn't really bother me. It's a 10-bit panel, but only up to a 144Hz refresh rate! If you set a higher refresh rate, it becomes an 8-bit panel. I don't care because 144 Hz is just enough for my needs. I prefer a 10-bit gamma over a higher refresh rate. Input positioning and accessing it is terrible! It takes too long to connect everything than it should and I basically have to grope my way blindly. My ROG Swift had the same issue, but here it's even worse. Luckily, once everything is plugged in, you don't have to worry about that, and the cables are less visible. The OSD is pretty "simple" and switching inputs requires too many clicks. All these "cons" are insignificant. , is not enough to remove a star from the rating and they are greatly outweighed by the positives. By the way, a lot of people don't seem to understand how to set things up to consume HDR content. You need to select the HDR color mode from the monitor's OSD menu and then also enable "Use HDR" in the Windows 10 display settings. To benefit from this, you can then view HDR content such as HDR-enhanced streaming or games with built-in and enabled HDR support (in game settings). Windows 10's HDR integration used to be pretty crappy, but they seem to have fixed the issues and I've had no problems. Overall, barring a few quibbles, this is a great monitor and I recommend it for both work and play. I agree with another reviewer that this is the best 34-inch UWQHD monitor for under $1,000.
