So I decided to take the leap into alternative printing filament and started with PETG. I had always heard that it is a good "advanced” material to use for people that tinker with tools or molds. Something that I really enjoy doing. I have been reading and PLA is really for the fun stuff and for playing around with. Maybe items that do not hold much heat or will need to be that strong. Using the PETG, I found that you need to use a higher heat setting, nozzle at 230 deg C and bed setting at 70 deg for a good bed adhesion which seems to be the biggest problem with using PETG. I had a chance to print a gear and a mold for making soft baits and all worked out perfectly. Just as long as you don’t assume that PETG and PLA have the same settings you are great. I found that the prints come out very smooth and the end prints are super strong like it almost feels like aluminum. Another good attribute
