Great first time PETG filament

So I decided to take the leap into alternative printing filament and started with PETG. I had always heard that it is a good "advanced” material to use for people that tinker with tools or molds. Something that I really enjoy doing. I have been reading and PLA is really for the fun stuff and for playing around with. Maybe items that do not hold much heat or will need to be that strong. Using the PETG, I found that you need to use a higher heat setting, nozzle at 230 deg C and bed setting at 70…

Pros
  • ‎2.2 pounds
Cons
  • The filament may cause clogs in the printer's nozzle

Sunlu PETG is the best, but beware of PETG-G

All I print with is PETG and Sunlu is the best PETG that I have used. Sunlu is better than Hatchbox and Overture. With that said, make sure you check the part number here on Walmart before you place your order. Sunlu makes a lower temperature PETG that is labeled as PETG-G. I have found PETG-G is brittle compared to PETG, which diminishes the reason for using the filament.Unfortunately Sunlu advertises PETG-G as PETG, so you have to look at the Walmart part number to know which you are ordering.

Pros
  • ‎PETG
Cons
  • It may not be suitable for printing large, flat objects

Good enough, but not perfect.

It prints easily and has strength when it’s finished. My only complaint with it is that there are a lot of small imperfections maybe due to moisture or air bubbles in the filament. I’ve now tested at both a 0.4mm and 0.8mm nozzle. Both result in a rice crispy crackling sound during printing. That also results in tiny imperfections and I can’t get a visually smooth surface from it. My purpose with this was to make a functional part with strength and heat resistant. It does that and held its…

Pros
  • SUNLU PETG 3D Printer Filament is eco-friendly and non-toxic, ensuring that your crafting has minimal environmental impact
Cons
  • The accuracy of +/-0.02mm may not be enough for parts that require precise sizing

Works fine for me! on my review.

Recently, my brother-in-law asked if I'd be willing to design and 3D print a custom panel for the interior of his 1968 Camaro. I won't digress and cover the struggles I had in doing that, but the design turned out nicely.Normally, ABS filament would be ideal for such a part, but I run my 3D printers in a basement bedroom. I can print PLA, PETG and TPU just fine, occasionally needing to fire up the air purifier I keep in the room, but given ABS filament's reputation for releasing toxic fumes and

Pros
  • I haven't had a failed print yet.
Cons
  • The length of 320 meters may not be sufficient for long printing projects

Dry it first. in my review

As with most Cheap PETG this comes kinda wet. What I do is stick it in the oven at 170f for 2 or 3 hours and transfer it directly into my drybox. I do this no matter what even with expensive brands and have never really had any issues. I honestly wouldnt say that PETG-G prints any better than PETG though. Both print fine when dry.

Pros
  • This is nicely wound and easy to work with.
Cons
  • The price may be too high compared to other brands
