Love love love these! My chickens too. I currently have them in the top four birdhouses and the artificial grass cushions in the bottom ones. I can't say my chickens have preferences. My chickens can form them into a nest shape (bowl) and hold the eggs well. They have a thin paper liner on the bottom that allows me to take them out to dispose of poop if needed. They are not waterproof. You're very important to me, so I'm deducting a star. For that reason, I'll be using them again while I can. I also started looking for other options because of the cost.
