The Packaging was extremely nice and the feathers looked pretty and well made at first. I used this product for a month old kitten and it got destroyed with light play. The rod is a hollow plastic fishing rod with a piece of plastic fishing line and "hook" to attach the different fuzzy pieces to the string. The string broke almost immediately and unfortunately the design (the hook that's compatible with the fuzzy pieces came off-rendering the product useless) causes the line to be irreplaceable, even though fishing string on its own is easy to replace. I replaced the string with a ribbon the box came with which held up well until the feathers started to fall out on their own as well as the worm on string shedding fluff until it disappeared. Don't let the nice packaging and bright color fool you it WILL FALL APART. Very cheaply made, not a single fuzzy or feathery accessory stays together. I don't recommend you buy it, especially for an older cat. I think the rod is so thing it might snap with a heavier cat playing with it.
