Review on 10-Piece Precision Electronics Screwdriver Set by Steelman: Versatile Slotted, Phillips, and Torx Sizes, Swivel-Head Design, with Magnetized Tips by Michael Cooper

I emailed her on a Monday evening and she replied before noon the next morning, which impressed me. She assured me that they are 100% product supported and that these screwdrivers really must have magnetic tips. I decided to try the replacement set which they sent very quickly. I confess I was still skeptical but she told me that they personally tested this set before shipping it. I opened the box and tried all ten screwdrivers on the computer screws in front of me, one at a time. Each screwdriver held the screws perfectly! I also tested each to see how they rotate while gripping the top of the handle and everything worked fine. A few of them had a little more friction than the others, but they all turned without any problems. All lettering on the sides (indicating the size of the screwdriver) and on the top (indicating the screwdriver type, e.g. Phillips, Flat, Torx) was legible and showed no signs of wear. I would like to give special attention to Ashley and her excellent service throughout this process. She was so incredibly helpful and assured me that she would do the right thing. She has, there's no doubt about it. I would also like to note that it is nice that the company stands behind their product so much. It's a reasonably priced item and doesn't require a large investment, so it was a pleasant surprise that they took the time and effort to ensure a quality replacement was *inspected personally* and then dispatched promptly to completely resolve the issue to solve. This new 10 piece set is exactly what I was hoping for when I ordered it. I think the lack of magnetic tips in the first set is a strange anomaly and unlikely to be a permanent problem. Due to the ease of fixing the issue and the excellent quality of the replacement sent, I am now changing my original rating from 2 stars to a full 5 stars. I'm glad these tools will be available to me for a long, long time. There is complete satisfaction. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I already have a set of 6 precision screwdrivers but they are not magnetic. I found them, read all the reviews and made sure this is the set for me. Others commented that it was a quality product and a few people said they liked the magnetic tips which was my main consideration. While the 6 piece Steelman sets were available immediately, I decided to wait for the 1-2 months it would take for a 10 piece set. It was delivered at the end of that date range so no complaints. I have a couple of laptops that I've wanted to do some work on and have had terrible times with non-magnetic screwdrivers. When I got my new set out I was a little excited. However, a crushing disappointment followed when I discovered that there was no sign of magnetism whatsoever. There was no trace of magnetism on even the smallest and lightest of the laptop's screws. It was absolutely and utterly indistinguishable from an ordinary non-magnetized set. My expectations are realistic - I don't expect it to be particularly strong, knowing that strong magnets aren't typically ideal for working with electronics. And yet I'm not exaggerating - I'm not saying the magnetic force is weak, I'm saying it doesn't exist. As this was my main criteria for purchasing this set, I am incredibly disappointed. And I promise I gave them a fair chance. Looking at the many reviews I've written about Revain over the years, it's clear that I rate pretty much everything very positively, so I'm not a hater or have any intentions against this product/company. I don't know if I can find a customer service number for them, but if I can I will most likely contact them. I'm curious if I received a defective set or if they were just mis-advertised on Revain. I have to return them, I just don't know if I should ask for a replacement or get a refund and choose a different brand. I'm not including the screwdriver case in my rating, although as others have pointed out, it's very poor. I was aware of this at the time of purchase and played no role in my purchase decision. I just wanted a high quality precision set with magnetic tips. The quality seems there, but there are no magnetic spikes. This equates to a 2 star rating for me which is a shame as I am embarrassed to give a product such a low rating. I just feel that others should be warned if the "Magnet Tips" described are important to them. If that's not a factor then I'll say I think it's a decent set and a very good price.
