GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCEMENT - Read before ordering this timing kit

GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCEMENT - My car was manufactured on 3/99. The pre/post 2/9/99 production guide between selecting Gates TCK294 and TCK294A is just a guide. This is not a fixed rule. I checked which sync kit I need using the Gates application guide on their website. The bottom line is, if you have questions, disassemble and inspect the timing idlers before ordering. If the upper idler pulley on your Zetec 2.0 is the same diameter as the lower idler pulley (next to the crankshaft) then you should order the TCK294A which is recommended for vehicles built after 2/9/99. On the other hand, if your engine's upper idler diameter is larger than the lower idler diameter, like mine, you will need to order TCK294, even if the vehicle was built after 2/9/99. The TCK294A kit is modifiable as another user reported, but many will be stuck with a kit they cannot install "as is".
