I bought this for my 1 year old Labrador Retriever. It is so big, the body barely fits in her mouth, and very cute. We gave it to her and let her play with it & chew on it as much as she wanted - like the manufacturer says the hippo is definately not a "chew toy". The hippo's ears were missing before 3 days went by and after a week seams on the legs were splitting and stuffing was coming out. Regardless our lab still loves this toy and I just keep sewing it back up when she rips another seam. I would repurchase this because I feel that it is a quality product but only let her use it for more "supervised" type play - wish it would have held up for just slightly longer though.
