Review on Fel-Pro MS98000T Intake Manifold Gasket Set by Maurice Rivera

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Much better than the original

Have a 1998 Silverado 5.7 Vortec. The factory originals failed after 120,000 miles. They were replaced with a Felpro plastic version due to a very common "mysterious" coolant leak. This solved the problem for about 5 years. A few months ago and now 220,000 miles. The low coolant issue returned, along with rough idle and oily spark plugs. I was pretty sure the intake manifold gaskets had blown again. I heard about the new updated version of Fel-Pro so I ordered a set. They came from Revane Prime in (2) days. I have already removed the intake for cleaning and inspection etc. Of course the plastic seals have been roasted. The separation of plastic and rubber is omnipresent. Coolant leak in the rear 2 cylinders and check. Oil flowed from the tappet valley into other cylinders and fouled the spark plugs. There was a lot of oil in the intake guides. I'm new that I found the problem. As soon as you see the new and improved Fel-Pro pads, you'll know you made the right choice by spending the extra money. GET HER! Don't waste your money and time with plastic. These look like they will last forever. It's too much work to worry about an extra $20. All additional gaskets and sealants are included. Good instruction included, can be done in about 5-6 hours. If you are a moderate wrench. My work turned out perfect, good luck!
