The thread is quite long so don't try to screw it all the way in or the nailer cap will break. I had to remove the red thread sealant to fit my Metabo 16 gauge, it was too tight with the sealant. I also had to cut out a small piece of plastic that fits in the Metabo case (see photo), but no bigger than a silver dollar. I bought 1 inch and want to get 1 3/4 inch. I can still use 1 inch to hook into a tool belt or jean pocket, but that's about it. It's not deep enough to snag a ladder, 2x4, etc. The quality seems to be good. Bought two, one for my 16 and one for my 18. I might get 1 3/4 for my nailer and 15 gauge.
