I have a couple of Freud-Forstner serrated bits (as well as a couple of non-serrated bits) and have been using them for many years. These are good bits (sharp out of the box, make clean holes, decent cutting speed, and stay sharp for a while) and they're not overpriced. Blade, but it's a bit harder to sharpen by hand. I would recommend a serrated bit instead of the traditional straight bit. However, they are not as good as fish bits (which are significantly more expensive). Fish bits make clean holes faster and last longer. So I usually take fish if I think I'll use it a bit more and Freud if it's a custom size.
