I bought a K&H Manufacturing Brown Small Animal Heating Pad 9" x 12" 25W for my rabbit last fall as we live in a drafty downstairs apartment and I expected it got that winter there will be some brutally cold days. I was concerned that the hard plastic of the heating pad would not be comfortable, and I'm always paranoid about accidental fires, so I figured it would be wise to purchase the cover that came with the heating pad. I'm glad I bought this heating pad cover because my rabbit wouldn't go to the heating pad without it. I decided to put a heating pad in his uncoated cage first because if he's happy uncoated I can just return it and save a few bucks. But my rabbit definitely prefers a blanket with a blanket. He was happy, so I was happy. It's not a bad cover, but it doesn't look like it will last long. It's cheaply made to me, but for the price I should have expected it not to be the greatest. I was expecting it to be a little softer, almost plush, but it's a faux fleece that's a little softer but feels more like a soft rug than a fleece. It fits the heating pad like a glove and has a small cord hole. I let the heating pad heat up for about 20 minutes and then put my hand on it and I definitely felt warm through the lid. It lets in enough heat to keep your pet warm on a cold night, but not hot enough to burn or affect your pet's body temperature. I gave this heating pad a three star rating because after a few uses my bunny was able to chew the zipper all the way through so I can't close the cover. If it had a hidden zipper I would have liked it a lot more. The lid is still usable, but can no longer be closed, so that my rabbit has managed to pull it off the heating pad every now and then during the winter. 12" 25W and we aim to give your pet a little more comfort than this bag. Just note that the lid is not chew-proof. So if you have chewing gum on hand, like me, you can replace it every winter season.
