Review on ⏱️ Taylor Precision Products Digital Timer: A Versatile Solution for School, Learning, Projects, and Kitchen Tasks, Featuring Super Loud Alerts - Grey by Paula Stewart

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Really Super LOUD is the best timer for aging ears and/or big houses! BUT stopped working after over 2 years

I'm in my 60's and can't hear as well as I used to, also my oven's built in timer is so quiet you can't hear it from upstairs can (and sometimes not even heard from the living room when the TV is on). I tried to find a really loud kitchen timer so I don't miss it going off and at the end boiling the water from the pot again :)! I've bought several different timers that claim to be loud, but they were loud enough to be heard if you really listened carefully to them, and then they stopped ringing or buzzing after 45 seconds. When I'm busy upstairs it's easy for me not to hear these timers, or I actually hear them for a moment and then just forget about them when I'm really engrossed upstairs with my computer and they stop calling. Taylor's kitchen timer is the BEST timer I've found to make sure you can hear it. It's loud enough to actually be terribly loud and deafening if you're around when the timer goes off, which is amazing for those of us who get a little hard of hearing and want to hear it upstairs. .Another great feature is that the audio doesn't stop until you physically press a button, so you can't ignore it - you can't just turn it off and then just go back to what you were doing. & Forget it; it keeps reminding you that you should strive for it. The digital display is large and easy to read. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because I often fail to clear the number of minutes I set it to. It often takes me a few tries before I can delete the setting. Since I've only had a timer for a few days, I don't know if I just don't know how to do it properly (it's a bit tricky - you have to press the button and then quickly press it again and hold for a few seconds), or if it's a lemon that responds sporadically to cleaning and I need to replace it. The timer doesn't take up much space on the stovetop or countertop at all; it is only 3 inches in diameter - very compact. (The product description lists incorrect measurements which are larger than they actually are - I believe it says something like 6 inches). It's round and the timer dial is tilted towards you for easy reading. I am very happy that I finally found this really loud kitchen timer at a very good price. TO UPDATE. Now that I've had it for about 2 months I've upgraded it from 4 stars to 5 stars. After learning how to clean it, I had no problems with it. I love this alarm clock - I don't know how I lived without it - I never have to worry about not hearing it! UPDATE - (Remove 1 Star) - Problem: I've had it for about 2 1/2 years now and it no longer works. Tried putting new batteries in, didn't help. The "problem" started a few days ago when the "ringing" continued faintly even after I pressed the button to turn off the timer/sound. In addition, the digital display then looked dark. So I assumed he just needed new batteries. But the batteries only helped a few days. Now he's just dead. (I use the timer every day, probably 6-10 times a day, and I let it "ring" for a long time too many times before turning the sound off. However, I expected it to last over 2 years, 8 months works ). Now I'm forced to buy a new one after only 2 years, 8 months of use because I've become very addicted to this timer and I NEED it as it's still the BEST (loudest) timer and the only timer to date to you ring turn it off. BUT, if I have to buy a new one every 2 1/2 years, it's going to be a VERY EXPENSIVE timer, so it might make more sense to buy the more expensive "commercial" type to start with, which can apparently last many cycles a day can withstand heavy use and will probably last longer, making them more cost-effective in the end.
