Review on SainSmart Dissolvable Printers Filament Natural: Unleashing Advanced 3D Printing by Robert Ryokan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works fine when set correctly

Layer adhesion isn't the best but the PLA I use adheres to it quite well. It dissolves about as quickly as any other PVA filament (i.e. don't expect it to dissolve in just a few minutes, you'll need to let it soak for at least a couple of hours). I've found my printer to extrude hot (210°C) without burning or clogging, but I can't tell how accurate my thermistor is. Using the PrusaSlicer and its swiping function, I've completed multiple print jobs, each with 200 filament changes, without a single clog. The filament is quite flexible which isn't a problem with my direct drive extruder, but I don't know how this filament works with a Bowden extruder. I use dry box printing and have no issues with bubbles or crackling of the filaments.

Pros
  • Recommended extrusion temp/nozzle 160°C - 180°C (320°F - 356°F)
Cons
  • Older model
