I have only used this particular item once because the metal pin holding the top of the handle fell off; I squeezed the pin and when I looked I saw that the whitening plastic was cracked. I wouldn't even give it two stars unless I have to admit it's my second and I loved the first and used it for years until it wore out. It was a gift and I thought it would be a kitchen mess until I tried it, but I quickly became addicted to how easy it was to skim off broth fat and make soups and sauces. Hopefully this broken one is just bad luck and not a sign that they are making them less durable.
