This smart jig works exactly as described, bisecting inside and outside corners and rendering exactly half the angle on a miter saw. I have successfully used it to make both bevel and bevel cuts, the beveled edge being difficult due to the blade guard. To get around this, I did something that no other saw manufacturer would recommend: a guard. I of course unplugged the saw until the adjustment was made and the guard returned to the factory position. My use was to install over 200 feet of 10 inch reproduction in old NYC brownstone. In the place where it was 90 degrees there was almost no angle, the caliber made my life much easier. The only situations I couldn't use Miterix were when the sheathing was very close to the angle I was measuring, so my hands couldn't reproduce the angle. After measuring about 20 angles, the plastic splint became rough due to compression in the area of the multiple clamp, making it very difficult for the hinge to slide. If the rail were a bit wider to accommodate the washer under the bolt head, the problem would probably be solved. Alternatively, the splint or the entire body can be made of a material that better resists compression by the screw head.
