Great tool if you need to know odd angles

I saw this on a carpenter's blog. It's very easy to use once you practice a few times. When renovating a bathroom I used it to find the corner and trim the baseboard to smooth the corners. It does inside and outside corners and I just jammed the tool and brought it to the miter saw and looked at the angle of the blade. Worked great. I don't do much carpentry, but this tool simplifies what can be an annoying and wasteful project.

Pros
  • Miter Saw Accessories
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

I paid for it myself by making the right cuts and cleaning up the waste.

I always do small projects around the house. We will be replacing all of our baseboards and installing crown molding. I live in a new house where the craftsmanship isn't what it was many years ago. Not every corner is 90 degrees or square or even. This little magic allows me to quickly measure the angle, transfer it to the miter saw and cut with maximum safety. I just finished my first room and all my corners are sealed and connected perfectly. That made the hard work so much easier.

An ingenious tool for use with a miter saw.

instead of trying to set degrees and fractions. Just find the angle, remove it from the tool and transfer the angle to the saw. I just wish it was a little thinner for getting to smaller places. But it would be less durable. good tool. What the pictures don't show is that you can even "push out" the aluminum contact on the levers (e.g. the connection point) for more accuracy. Measurement or if there are "laps". You can just stretch out your arms (to avoid the corner) and get the measurement)…

Too big, too bulky for interior decoration

Really great idea but too big for most common uses. I see its value in the frame or rough carpentry work. And for the interior design? No way. This device is four times larger than it needs or should be. Consider measuring the inside cut in the baseboard, which is by far the most common need for inside corner cuts. If your home is like mine, not only are there many inside corners where the door frame is just a few inches from the corner, but the corner changes as you move farther from the…

This smart jig works exactly as described, bisecting inside and outside corners and rendering exactly half the angle on a miter saw. I have successfully used it to make both bevel and bevel cuts, the beveled edge being difficult due to the blade guard. To get around this, I did something that no other saw manufacturer would recommend: a guard. I of course unplugged the saw until the adjustment was made and the guard returned to the factory position. My use was to install over 200 feet of 10…
