These plugs, with their own handheld vacuum pump, are a great idea, but they're not ready for prime time. First of all, the outer packaging was broken when they arrived. No problem, because each cork is individually wrapped. You just stick them in the neck of a wine bottle instead of in a cork. Then pull the top of the cork up to deflate and pull and pull. . . . I had to pump a lot before I felt any resistance. I then kept pumping, hoping the resistance would build to the point where I couldn't continue. It's not like this. Excellent. Except that I checked the bottle an hour later and the pump showed no resistance again. Keep swinging and swinging until resistance returns. Some questions the next day when I went out for wine. The vacuum didn't hold and the wine tasted worse than with a simple cork. The cork fits the bottle perfectly. This is not a problem. The problem is that the pumping mechanism is not sealed. Very disappointing.
