I have seen many carpenters use tenons which they have to drive in. They then use small set screws to keep them from falling out. I could never understand WHY they wouldn't use it. Screws are not required. May be sunken. You will still drill the hole. Even my Lazy Boy chairs had different pieces and the base was falling off. I used reverse screws to secure it before I bought them. If you decide to try these, you will NEVER use the others again. They won't just fall for you.
