My TV has a lot of router noise right where I wanted to plug my ChromeCast. Now, on most other devices, I could just plug in an ethernet and be done with it, but ChromeCast doesn't support an ethernet connection. So I took that and put it right behind the TV to amplify the signal. Just so you don't make the same mistake I did. Selecting Modem->Switch->Router will work for most devices, but for ChromeCast you must select Modem->Router->Switch. ChromeCast is very picky in this regard. This isn't one of the modems tested to work with ChromeCast, but I set it up and it's compatible out of the box. What surprised me is that with this device I also get the best signal at the other end of the apartment. It extends quite far into the hallway and is in the room farthest from the front door. Given the low price, I was expecting it to be perfectly stable only within a radius of around three meters suitable for this purpose, but it far exceeded those expectations. I was positively surprised. If I need another router, I'll take another one of these.
